When a new Merchant is added to your rewards program, they are given an individual reference number. This is to ensure easy tracking of the Merchant and associated transactions within the plan. The number may be automatically populated in the merchant code field, or your program may be provided a Merchant number range (i.e. 64000 to 65000), and Merchants will be assigned numbers chronologically within this range. For example, if a Merchant is added with the merchant code 64001, the next Merchant loaded will be 64002.
